Effective Date: April 8, 2026

Introduction and Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to Scivra, a K-12 science education platform operated by Scivra ("we," "us," or "our"). Scivra provides interactive experiments, AI-powered visualization tools, and learning resources for students, teachers, and self-learners. By accessing or using our website at https://www.scivra.com or any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use our service.

If you are under 18 years of age, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.

Description of Service

Scivra provides:

  • Experiment Library: A collection of 179 interactive HTML experiments across Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Earth Science, and other science disciplines, aligned with NGSS and AP curricula.
  • Universal Principle Generator (UPG): An AI-powered tool that generates interactive HTML visualizations from natural language descriptions.
  • Learning Paths: Structured learning sequences with progress tracking.
  • Gallery: A community space where users can share, like, and fork UPG-generated visualizations.
  • Lab Notebook: Tools for recording experiment observations and notes.

User Accounts and Registration

  1. Account Creation: To access certain features (e.g., saving experiment progress, using UPG, accessing paid features), you must create an account. You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.

  2. Age Requirements: Users under the age of 13 must obtain verifiable parental consent before creating an account, in compliance with COPPA. Our platform includes age-gating mechanisms to enforce this requirement.

  3. Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. Notify us immediately at support@scivra.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

  4. One Account Per User: Each user should maintain only one account. We reserve the right to merge or terminate duplicate accounts.

Content and Intellectual Property

Our Content

All experiments, learning materials, platform code, design elements, and documentation on Scivra are the intellectual property of Scivra and are protected by copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without explicit written permission.

Your Content

  • You retain ownership of content you create using UPG or submit through lab notebooks and other features.
  • By publishing content to the Scivra Gallery, you grant Scivra a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and allow other users to view and fork your published content within the platform.
  • You may remove your published content at any time, which will revoke the display license (though forks already created by other users will persist).

AI-Generated Content

Content generated by UPG is created using AI (Anthropic Claude). You are responsible for reviewing and verifying the accuracy of any AI-generated content before relying on it for educational purposes. Scivra does not guarantee the scientific accuracy of AI-generated visualizations.

Privacy and Data Collection

Your use of Scivra is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, including specific protections for users under 13 (COPPA) and European users (GDPR). By using Scivra, you also agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy.

Educational Disclaimer

Scivra is an educational supplement, not a replacement for formal instruction, laboratory safety training, or accredited coursework. Our experiments are virtual simulations and should not be treated as substitutes for hands-on laboratory experiences where such experiences are required by your curriculum or institution.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scivra disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

  • The service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
  • The results obtained from the service will be accurate or reliable.
  • Any defects in the service will be corrected.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Scivra, its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or interruption of service, arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the service.
  • Unauthorized access to your account or data.
  • Any errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in experiment content or AI-generated visualizations.
  • Any third-party conduct on the platform.

Our total aggregate liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to Scivra in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Scivra, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

Termination

  • By You: You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@scivra.com.
  • By Us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access at our discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in prohibited activities, or if required by law. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination, except in cases of serious violations.
  • Effect of Termination: Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases. You may request export of your data within 30 days of termination, after which your data will be deleted in accordance with our data retention policies.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the service will be resolved through binding arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in English. You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted on an individual basis, not as a class action.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website with a new effective date, and for significant changes, by email notification.
